BIOGRAPHY
Andrew Flynn is a Mt. Lebanon Commissioner, volunteer firefighter, and experienced public finance professional with a proven record of local and regional leadership. Focused on building safer, stronger, and more fiscally responsible communities, Andrew brings a deep commitment to service and practical governance.
In Mt. Lebanon, Andrew has prioritized transparency, climate resilience, modern mobility, and infrastructure renewal. As a firefighter and EMT, he lives public safety firsthand. His career is grounded in responsibility, integrity, and a belief that strong communities are built through public trust and effective leadership.
Professionally, Andrew offers decades of experience helping public institutions deliver better financial outcomes. As a former Chief Administrative Officer for Public Finance at BNY Mellon and longtime advisor to local governments, he has worked across the U.S. to strengthen fiscal health, support infrastructure investment, and modernize government services. His expertise in transportation policy, intergovernmental collaboration, and long-term planning informs his vision for accountable, transparent, and people-centered government.
Raised on military bases worldwide, Andrew learned early how discipline, public service, and smart leadership can transform communities. He studied in Russia during a period of national upheaval, gaining firsthand insight into the power and fragility of public institutions. Years ago, he worked as a cowboy on a large Wyoming ranch, shaping his respect for hard work and perseverance.
Andrew currently serves as President of the Congress of Neighboring Communities (CONNECT), a coalition of 41 municipalities, Allegheny County, and the City of Pittsburgh. Under his leadership, CONNECT advances regional solutions in public safety, infrastructure, and digital engagement.
He and his wife Corey have lived in Mt. Lebanon since 2010, raising three children and two dogs.
Andrew is committed to bringing grounded, principled leadership to the region—leadership that ensures fiscal accountability and reflects the grit, pragmatism, and values of Western Pennsylvania.
